Tiruppur Tamizhansregistered an emphatic 118-run victory over Dindigul Dragons in the final of the 2025 edition of the Tamil Nadu Premier League at the NPR College Ground in Dindigul. This was the second time Tiruppur had defeated Dindigul in seven meetings, the first one being a thumping nine-wicket victory during the round-robin stage earlier in the tournament.
Tiruppur were off to an absolute flyer of a start with Amit Sathvik bringing up a swashbuckling fifty by the end of the powerplay. Tiruppur had raced off to 110 for the loss of no wickets by the end of the halfway mark. The same over in which Tushar Raheja got to his half-century was when Dindigul took their first wicket of the game in the form of Sathvik (65 off 34)
Skipper Sai Kishore's stay at the crease wasn't long. He was dismissed in the very subsequent over. Ravichandran Ashwin finished wicketless in his four overs. M Karthik Saran, who had dismissed Kishore, brought about the end of Raheja (77 off 46). A couple of quickfire 20s from Uthirasamy Sasidev and V Anovankar ensured their side crossed the 200-mark with ease.
Chasing 221, Dindigul could not have gotten off to a worse start. They ended up losing Ravichandran Ashwin, Baba Indrajith, and Vimal Khumar by the fourth over. Hunny Saini (17 off six) looked threatening during his time in the middle. However, his run-out in the seventh over meant Dindigul had half their side back in the shed.
Esakkimuthu A, the Impact Player for Tiruppur, struck twice in his second over. His second wicket was the Dindigul's Impact Player, Atul Vitkar (24 off 20), who ended up being his side's highest scorer in the game. Venkatesh Bhuvaneshwar getting run-out on the fourth ball of the 15th over was the end of the game. Shivam Singh, who would normally open the batting, could not come to bat due to an injury. The defending champions were bowled out for 102 in 14.4 overs, as Tiruppur emerged victorious in the summit clash.
