Following the deadly explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi on November 10, which claimed nine lives and injured multiple people, states across India have been placed on high alert.
The incident, which occurred close to one of the country’s most secure heritage zones, has triggered a massive security review across several states. Investigators from central and state agencies are jointly probing the blast, even as the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Delhi Police’s Special Cell remain on site.
Following the explosion, security forces across major cities and border states have been directed to intensify patrolling, verify suspicious vehicles, and monitor crowded public places. Metro stations, railway hubs, airports, and marketplaces have been brought under strict surveillance. Senior police officials have appealed for calm and urged citizens not to spread rumours on social media.
