External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will visit the United States of America from June 30 to July 2, 2025, to participate in the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (QFMM) scheduled for July 1.
The visit comes at the invitation of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a press release on Sunday.
The meeting, which follows the last QFMM held in Washington D.C. on January 21, will see the Foreign Ministers of India, the US, Japan, and Australia review progress on key Quad initiatives and discuss global and regional developments, particularly in the Indo-Pacific.
The deliberations are expected to focus on enhancing cooperation ahead of the upcoming Quad Leaders' Summit, which will be hosted by India later this year. The Ministers will also consider new proposals to further their shared goal of a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific.
During the visit, Dr Jaishankar will also inaugurate an exhibition titled “The Human Cost of Terrorism” at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on June 30. The exhibition aims to spotlight the global impact of terrorism and the international community's response to counter it, according to MEA.
