Kolkata: A young woman was allegedly raped even as she was invited to a birthday party in south Kolkata, police said on Sunday.
According to Kolkata Police said a complaint has been filed the 20-year-old woman on Saturday, alleged that she was invited by her friend to a birthday party on Friday evening. The incident happened under Haridevpur police station where the complaint was lodged.
She said in her complaint after reaching the apartment around 10.45 pm, she found that there were only two persons – her friend and another acquaintance.
“In her complaint, the woman has mentioned that she had voluntarily gone to the flat of one of her friends. The two men — her friend Chandan Malik and another Deep alias Debangsu Biswas – were present.
She was allegedly taken forcibly to Deep’s house and raped and assaulted her,” said a police officer.
