Importance of Dakshina in Havan: Puja and Havan have special importance in India. These are not just religious traditions, but are means of bringing peace, energy, and positivity into life. Especially Havan, which is done in front of the fire god, is considered a sacred deed. According to the scriptures, whenever a person performs the Havan methodically, he can get the fruits of worship of the past several days, months, or years together. This is the reason why Havan is done before big festivals, birthdays, housewarming, or any auspicious work.

Now the question arises, why Dakshina is given after Havan. This is not a normal donation, but a special tradition behind which a deep feeling is attached. What is its importance? Let us know from Bhopal resident astrologer and Vastu consultant Pandit Hitendra Kumar Sharma.
What is the importance of Dakshina, and why is it necessary to give?
Dakshina does not mean only giving money. It is a feeling, a sign of gratitude. It is believed that Havan Dev has a power called Dakshina Devi, who completes that ritual. If Dakshina is not given after Havan, then the Havan remains incomplete. That is, even if you have performed Havan with all your heart, unless Dakshina is given, the fruit of that deed is not fully obtained.
When should Dakshina be given?
Many people give Dakshina immediately after Havan is over, but this method is not considered correct. According to Brahmins and experts, Dakshina should be given after Havan when the Brahmin has eaten or when you distribute food or other things to a needy person. Only then will this process have the right effect.
What is right to give in Dakshina?
Only money doesn't need to be given in Dakshina. If you cannot give money, then useful things like clothes, fruits, grains, or land can also be given. Even helping the needy is considered equal to Dakshina. The special thing is that whatever you give, it should be from your hard-earned money. Dakshina given from someone else's money or goods has no importance.

How much should be the dakshina?
There is no fixed amount of dakshina. Give as much as you can. In this, the feeling is important, not the quantity. Even if you have less resources, if you give something with a true heart, then that dakshina is considered complete.
