Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Jahangirabad police have arrested Abrar, the sixth and possibly final accused in the high-profile rape and blackmail case that rocked Bhopal in April 2025. Abrar was arrested from Itarsi railway station in Narmadapuram district on June 20 and was produced in court on Monday, which sent him to judicial custody.
According to DCP Zone-1 Shashank Singh, Abrar was on the run for two months after the arrest of five accused - Farhan, Nabeel, Sahil, Ali and Saad. Like his accomplices, Abrar is accused of raping multiple Hindu women at different locations in Bhopal, recording obscene videos and blackmailing the victims. The accused also allegedly pressurised victims to convert to Islam.
The search for Abrar began after the arrest of the other accused. Acting on intelligence, a team led by Jahangirabad TI was initially dispatched to West Bengal, Abrar’s native state. However, police later received inputs that Abrar was heading to Mumbai.
