CBSE Class 10 & 12 Results Declared: Girls Outshine Boys, Over 2 Lakh Score Above 90%

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday declared the results for Classes 10 and 12, with girls once again outperforming boys in Class 12 and a significant number of high scorers across both grades.

The overall pass percentage for Class 12 stood at 88.39%, showing a slight improvement from last year’s 87.98%. Girls recorded a pass rate of 91.64%, outshining boys by nearly six percentage points (85.70%). In a remarkable development, all transgender students who appeared for the exam passed, a sharp rise from 50% in 2023.

Out of 16.9 lakh Class 12 candidates, over 1.11 lakh students scored above 90%, and 24,867 crossed the 95% mark. However, 1.29 lakh students have been placed in the compartment category. Region-wise, Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh achieved the highest pass rate at 99.60%, while Prayagraj recorded the lowest, with around 80% of students clearing the exam.

For Class 10, over 1.99 lakh students scored above 90%, and more than 45,000 secured marks exceeding 95%.

The board also highlighted that there was no merit list released to avoid unhealthy competition among students. However, merit certificates will be awarded to the top 0.1% of candidates in each subject.

This year, over 39 lakh students appeared for the CBSE Class 10 and 12 exams combined. The board attributed the smooth conduct of the exams and timely declaration of results to the implementation of advanced evaluation technology, including artificial intelligence-based tools used for detecting discrepancies in answer sheets and speeding up the assessment process.
