Sehore (Madhya Pradesh): A primary school in Roopkund village in the Ashta assembly constituency is in a pitiable state.

A local goon has occupied the school building where he is keeping his cattle. As a result, the students are attending classes on the premises of a nearby temple.

The Panchayat Sarpanch and Sachiv are also also keeping mum over the issue. The school building is in a dilapidated condition. Rainwater is leaking through the ceiling of the building and its walls.

Plasters are peeling of the walls. The Panchayat constructed two rooms to run the school. A local goon has occupied one of the rooms and keeping his cattle there.

There are 62 students from classes one to five in the school. As all the children cannot be housed in one room, classes are run from the premises of a nearby temple.

If there is rain, five classes are held in one room. Because of lack of space, the children are sometimes told the return home.

Nevertheless, the senior officials of the education department never paid any heed to the issue. Since the school does not have any toilet, the students are facing a lot of problems.

The students are using a temporary toilet made of wood and plastic sheets. The in charge of the school, Rajesh Kumar Vyas, said he had written to the higher-ups about the problems the students are facing, but the officials never paid any attention to his letters.
