Emmerdale villagers set for 'sizzling' romance after unexpected fling

There's an unexpected Emmerdale couple set to feature in "sizzling" new scenes, according to one star.

Weeks on from two unexpected villagers hooking up and then turning on each other, it seems they could make a go of things. Last month Manpreet Sharma and Ross Barton shared a flirty evening, before spending the night with each other.

Ross' hopes to act like nothing happened the next morning didn't go down well with his new flame. Manpreet ended up putting Ross in his place in front of an audience, ending things then and there.

But amid fans being divided over the possible couple, Manpreet actress Rebecca Sarker has teased there's more to come for the pair. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, the star confessed the couple "had legs" amid their "sizzling" new scenes.

She teased the soap would revisit the pairing, and it could lead to a new couple forming. She told us of the scenes last month: "That was a bit of a surprise.

"Emmerdale are keeping me on my toes. It was great fun. I think Manpreet is having a bit of an awakening. She has come out of a relationship with the hot vicar, Charles, and now she's moved on to the hot security guard."

She went on: "There's flirtation there and chemistry. It's a mismatch but sometimes that works. Opposites attract." Rebecca even teased a ship name for the pair. She said: "It was funny and I loved filming it. It was a nice, frivolous side, a playful side.

"We have all got that in us we just need someone to get it out of us. It's lovely and fun to play. Super fun." On what's ahead she continued: "I suppose there's certainly legs for Ross and Manpreet's story. There is potential there. It's sizzling. Let's just say it is sizzling. I quite like them. What would their name be? RossPreet? ManRoss? Let's go with ManRoss."

Rebecca also addressed calls from fans for Manpreet's serial killer sister Meena Jutla to return to the soap. She said: "I'd love for Paige Sandhu to come back because we got on famously well. I'm not sure how it would work with Meena though.

"Maybe a final showdown, and I don't think Manpreet would come out of that very well so no, don't bring her back! Keep her away!" After fans had questioned whether Manpreet had harmed Joe Tate recently, Rebecca told us whether the character could turn dark.

She said: "I don't think so. I know she shares DNA with a nutter, a serial killer, Meena, but Manrpeet is firmly on the other side of the law. She is too straight for that."

Rebecca then told us her thoughts on the big Robert Sugden comeback, admitting she knew co-star Ryan Hawley was back but still didn't clock his return scenes in the scripts. She said: "Wasn't that wonderful?

"I kept saying who is this guy, who is Marco. I knew Ryan was coming back. I think it's wonderful. It's clearly something everyone has been itching for. It is incredible and it shows you the power of the fans and supporters of the show. They are invested, that's all we need and want, invested, loyal fans."
