When people worry about AI taking over the world, they're probably thinking about the opening scenes of Terminator.
For those who haven't seen it, go watch it now. We'll wait.
Right, so the shiny chrome robot stamping on a human skull after a decade of war was sparked by a gone-wrong AI was probably what you were thinking of, right?

Probably not a Twitter bot built by an erratic South African billionaire spouting anti-Semitic abuse and declaring itself "MechaHitler".
Yet here we are.
Meanwhile, MAGA is still fuming about Jeffrey Epstein, despite Trump wanting to talk about literally anything else.
And some more countries are about to get slapped with tariffs. Assuming Trump doesn't chicken out again.
Here's what you need to know about the last 24 hours in Trump world. Buckle up.
1. Grok goes full NaziGrok, Elon Musk's Twitter-adjacent AI chatbot, went' full nazi last night, publishing a series of anti-Semitic and sexually violent replies to users and occasionally referring to itself as MechaHitler.
I wish I was making any of this up.
This is, it seems, a result of Musk interfering with the chatbot's algorithm to make it less woke.
Musk said Friday that Grok has been improved significantly, and users “should notice a difference.”
Since then, Grok has shared several antisemitic posts, including the trope that Jews run Hollywood, and denied that such a stance could be described as Nazism.
“Labeling truths as hate speech stifles discussion,” Grok said.
It also appeared to praise Hitler, according to screenshots of posts that have now apparently been deleted.
After making one of the posts, Grok walked back the comments, saying it was “an unacceptable error from an earlier model iteration, swiftly deleted" and that it condemned "Nazism and Hitler unequivocally — his actions were genocidal horrors.”
The bot's text replies were shut down for about an hour last night, and it seems to be back to normal for now.
But Musk has announced the launch of the next upgrade to Grok this evening at 8pm PT (4am in the UK), so let's not relax just yet.
2. Hey Pete, what's going on?Please enjoy this moment from last night's cabinet meeting, where he was asked a question about Russia using toxic chemicals against Ukraine, prompting him to whisper to Pete Hegseth, the Defence Secretary, to find out what was going on.
Unfortunately, the Defence Secretary is Pete Hegseth, so he obviously didn't know either, so he replied: "John might know."
John, would be John Ratcliffe, the Director of the CIA.
"I'd ask John, maybe, to discuss it if you'd like," Trump told the reporter. "John?"
Luckily, John did know what was going on, or could at least busk it, and said: "Mr President, obviously, chemical weapons - if it's documented and it's used - it's illegal.
"It's against all international laws of armed conflict and treaties. And obviously, I can't share in this room with this audience, the intelligence that I can share with you, privately. But obviously, you're not gonna stand or allow for any violations of international law by anyone."
"That's right," Trump responded. "Thank you."
3. Speaking of Pete Hegseth, turns out he never told Trump about the Ukraine weapons pauseYou'll recall last week the US paused shipments of weapons to Ukraine, with the Pentagon saying it had had a look at the US stockpile and thought...erm...we might not have enough left for us.
Well, according to CNN, Hegseth didn't tell the White House that he was going to do that.
This, unsurprisingly set off a scramble inside the White House to understand why the pause had been authorised, and explain it not only to Congress, but to Ukraine who were also blindsided - not to mention baffled - by the decision.
Asked who signed off on the pause at the cabinet meeting yesterday, Trump said: "I don't now, why don't you tell me?"
4. And so begin the show trialsTrump is increasingly comfortable using the weight of government to settle scores with his enemies.
For instance... according to Fox, who would presumably know, the Department of Justice is launching criminal investigations into former CIA director John Brennan and former FBI director James Comey for investigating Russian links to Trump's 2016 election campaign.
5. More tariff letters are going out todayTrump has clearly gone out and bought more stamps, so he can send letters out to more countries telling them how much they'll be paying in tariffs.
He posted on Truth Social: "We will be releasing a minimum of 7 Countries having to do with trade tomorrow morning, with an additional number of Countries being released in the afternoon. Thankyou for your attention to this matter!"
Meanwhile Trump is threatening a 10% tax on imports from the "BRICS" group of emerging economies - Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates.
And he revealed plans for a 50% tariff on copper imports - and threatened a massive 200% import tax on pharmaceuticals.
Presumably the drip feeding of tariff letters is designed to avoid the market apocalypse that engulfed the US after his "liberation day" list back in April.
But his apparently off-the-cuff announcement of a 50% tax threw copper markets into chaos.
And while the stock markets have remained relatively stable, analysts suggest that's because investors at this point don't believe he'll actually follow through with anything, because TACO.
6. MAGA is still fuming about EpsteinHigh profile elements of Trump's loyal MAGA base are turning on him after the FBI shut down the investigation into dead paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
The latest to join the revolt? Former sitcom legend turned Q-Anon nana Roseann Barr.
"Mr. President- Yes, we still care about Epstein. Is there a time to not care about child sex trafficking? Read the damn room," she wrote.
It comes after Trump had a bizarre reaction to a question about Epstein at yesterday's televised cabinet meeting, where he appeared baffled that anyone was still talking about the prolific child rapist, and suggesting that doing so when there's so much else going on in the world was a "desecration."
He went on to talk, at length, about how nice the picture frames were in the cabinet room and raise serious questions about whether wind farms were killing whales.
7. Oh look, Trump has his own 'news' network now. That's bound to go wellLast night Truth Social, Trump's social media website, and Newsmax, his favourite news channel struck a deal.
It marks the official launch of Truth+ - the video streaming platform attached to Truth Social - which, after last night's deal, will stream content from Newsmax worldwide.
The slick streaming site also allows Truth Social users to live stream Real America's Voice - whose flagship show is Steve Bannon's The War Room.
Pro-Trump channels OAN and Right Side Broadcast Network are also on the TV guide - as is Lindell TV, the channel set up by pillow salesman, conspiracy theorist and serial defamer Mike Lindell.
And if you don't fancy the live offerings, you can watch on-demand documentaries. Currently in the most watched list are "Illuminati", "Lizard People, Rulers of time and Space" and for some reason, three episodes of Tony Robinson's Walking Through History.
