Police have launched an appeal after a naked man was spotted on doorbell footage, prowling the streets wearing only a black 'gimp mask' and trainers.
The man was spotted in footage in the town of Lytham. Lancashire Police branded the video “concerning”. Residents have been urged to check CCTV and doorbell footage to share it with police if they too captured the man.
He was seen in the area of Westby Street, Cleveland Road and Bannister Street in the town. Police confirmed the incident took place on July 18, despite suggestions on social media that it was on July 30. It comes after a woman, 20, was found dead on bus with 26 iPhones glued to her body.

The incident was not initially reported to police, but brought to the attention of the force when it was widely shared on social media website Facebook. Footage shows the man wearing only the mask and a pair of black‑and‑white trainers as he walks along a row of residential homes.
The Fylde Rural Task Force has conducted CCTV inquiries, as well as house-to-house calls in its hunt for information. Police insist the matter is being taken “seriously”.
Locals say the clip was then shared on the street’s WhatsApp group and more footage from the night was revealed, which was posted on Facebook and has now gone viral.
“It’s a gimp mask, I’ve watched the footage,” said one resident, who did not want to be named. "I’ve no idea what he thinks he’s doing,” he added.
