It will be ideal weekend viewing for anyone who has already made their way through the second season of Wednesday. The Netflixhit recently added the second part of its latest outing earlier this week. There is a considerable focus on the character of Wednesday as part of the film's plot.
The 2021 animated release and sequel boasts an impressive voice cast too. Oscar Isaac takes on the role of Gomez while Charlize Theron plays his wife Morticia.
Kickass star Chloë Grace Moretz plays the role of Wednesday, Gomez and Morticia's daughter and a mad science child prodigy, while Javon Walton, from Umbrella Academy and Euphoria, features as her brother Pugsley.
Nick Kroll, known for co-creating as well as voicing multiple characters on Netflix series Big Mouth, plays Uncle Fester. There are also some major cameos as well including Bette Midler as Grandmamma Addams and Snoop Dogg as Cousin Itt.
According to the film's synopsis, the story sees Gomez become worried that the children have been growing apart from him and Morticia. Meanwhile, Wednesday is delighted to find a like-minded genius, who happens to be the sponsor of her school's science fair.
However, when an irritating lawyer arrives at the family home, Gomez takes the Addams on an impromptu and diverting family vacation and packs everyone into their haunted camper for a trip around America. Wednesday though, finds herself tormented with doubt. Why is she so different from the rest of her family?
Despite the film targeting a younger audience, many fans have recommended it to viewers of various ages. One person, sharing their thoughts online said: "Absolutely packed with humour, weirdness, creepiness and priceless jokes in every step of the movie.
"It's the kind of film I can enjoy watching no matter how insanely cringe and somewhat twisted it might be. The part with the song and monster battle was by far my favourite and I love all the dark moments of Wednesday. Especially the ones where she shows evil powers."
Another claimed: "This movie was surprisingly good. I kind of wish they spend a bit more time on the places they visited, but it was still good. I love it"
Someone else added: "A nice mixture of clever Addams style humour and slapstick. I was not disappointed by this sequel and look forward to the third one!"
Wednesday is streaming on Netflix and The Addams Family 2 is streaming on Prime Video and BBC iPlayer from September 7.
