Paddy Pimblett has revealed he was heavy enough to be in the light-heavyweight division just days following his victory over Michael Chandler last month.
The Scouse fighter achieved the most significant win of his career after defeating Chandler in Miami, edging closer to earning a shot at the lightweight title. Known for his tendency to gain weight rapidly post-fight, Pimblett was no different this time around.
From hitting the non-title bout's 156lb limit head-on before facing Chandler, he tipped the scales at 200lb once back on British soil – while fully-clothed.

Pimblett shared a video on where he’s seen indulging in an enormous Chinese takeout in his kitchen. Fans were quick to react, with one saying: "It's crazy how fast your body changes!" and another commented on his attitude towards food: "The appreciation and mindfulness Paddy shows when eating food is something to behold." A third suggested: "Paddy the only guy I think could beat Eddie Hall in Calorie Eating Contest."
As for the 30 year old's future prospects, he’s eyeing up the elite ranks within the UFC. Speaking post-win, he proclaimed: "Everything we worked on just happened here," adding, "This is how we win, we game plan, we use our fight IQ, and we beat f****** up. I want anyone in the top four or top five. I want that title. You can all laugh as much as you want and say I'll never be champ, just like you said I'll never get ranked, never be in the top 10. Well, what now, you gang of mushrooms?".
"I want Dustin [Poirier], Justin [Gaethje], Charles [Oliveira] or the little posh boy Arman [Tsarukyan]. I respect Justin, Dustin and Charles, Charles is the biggest legend out of them all."
Pimblett's career path remains a mystery with reigning 155lb king Islam Makhachev eyeing a welterweight challenge against new champ Jack Della Madallena, who triumphed over Belal Muhammad recently.
Makhachev has expressed his refusal to vacate his lightweight crown in light of the UFC's standing that forbids concurrent multiple division titles. And if Makhachev yields his belt, there's talk of Charles Oliveira going toe-to-toe with Ilia Topuria - a match-up you can bet Pimblett will be eager to insert himself into.
After duking it out with Chandler, Pimblett was swift to give homage online: "It was an absolute pleasure to share the cage with such a legend of the sport in Michael Chandler. Nothing but respect for him before the fight and even more after we fought."
Chandler, however, seems to have paid dearly for delaying a bout with , as the eagerly-anticipated clash fell through last summer resulting in two subsequent losses; one against Oliveira last November and then to Pimblett.
