Wrexham fire: Major blaze rips through industrial estate as Brits issued warning

Fire crews are battling a massive blaze on an industrial estate, as residents are being warned to shut their doors and windows.

Firefighters were called to the scene in at Wrexham Industrial Estate on Dunster Road after a huge blaze began ripping through the site.

A North Wales Fire and Rescue Service statement said: "We are currently in attendance at a fire on Dunster Road, Wrexham.

"Our crews are currently in attendance and we are asking the public to keep away from the area whilst the incident is ongoing and for residents to keep windows and doors closed."

Additional details have been sought from the emergency services.

Dunster Road is a connecting road off Bridge Road North and Oak Road, with a cordon now stretching from the fire scene on Dunster Road to Redwither Road, Malborough Road, and Bridge Road North.

Meanwhile, footage shared on X (formerly Twitter ) reveals thick black smoke billowing from the site of the blaze which has affected a building and vehicles — and at one stage had even spread to burn on the road.

North Wales Police have issued this statement on the fire: "Officers are currently assisting colleagues at North Wales Fire and Rescue Service with a road closure as a result of a fire in Wrexham.

"A cordon is in place from the incident on Dunster Road to Redwither Road, Malborough Road and Bridge Road North. Further closures are in place preventing access from Malborough Road to Abbey Road South.

"Please avoid these areas for the time being and take alternative routes where possible."

In the most recent update, it's been confirmed that six fire engines are currently at the scene, battling a blaze involving both a building and several vehicles.

According to North Wales Live, the fire service stated: "We were called at 9.15am today to an incident on Wrexham Industrial Estate. Six appliances are currently in attendance and the incident involves a building and vehicles on fire.

"We are asking local residents to close windows and doors and avoid the area whilst crews are dealing with the incident."

The teams that were dispatched and have since arrived at the scene include six appliances: Two from Wrexham, one from Deeside, one from Holyhead, one from Flint, and one from Johnstown.
