It's no surprise that Arsenal are in the market for a striker this summer, with the Gunners having been sniffing around Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres throughout the summer transfer window. Mikel Arteta's side have been slammed for not having a cutting edge in recent years, with Arsenal looking to end a two-decade-long wait for a Premier League title.
But what if a late door has just opened up for their long-time No.1 target, Alexander Isak? Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe was ambiguous when asked about the striker following a pre-season friendly against Celtic, hinting that Isak's head wasn't in the right place following speculation surrounding his future.
If there's even a sniff of snatching Isak, it's something Arsenal should explore, however, they'd likely need to offload some of their current squad to be able to afford it. As such, Express Sport have picked out three Arsenal aces who could be sold to raise funds for Isak.
Oleksandr Zinchenko
It looked like a smart pickup when Oleksandr Zinchenko joined from Manchester City in 2022, but despite a strong first season, the Ukrainian has struggled for form ever since. He's now fallen out of contention at the Emirates Stadium and will likely struggle to break into the first team next term. A move away is being tipped for the 28-year-old, who could still command a decent fee if sold.
Gabriel Jesus
A player who arrived at Arsenal in the same summer and from the same club, but too has also struggled to nail down a starting position in the last couple of campaigns. With Arsenal having added attackers to their roster already this summer, Gabriel Jesus' position in the side is even more at risk. Arsenal could be boosted by the fact a World Cup year is on the horizon, and after missing a chunk of last season through injury, the forward has work to do to secure a spot in Brazil's World Cup squad.
Jakub Kiwior
While he didn't look out of place stepping in for the injured Gabriel at the backend of last season, Jakub Kiwior can't sit about waiting for an injury to give him a route into the starting XI. Especially given another defensive deal in the form of Cristhian Mosquera is expected to be completed in the coming week or two. Kiwior is aged just 25 and with a bit of luck, Arsenal should be able to fetch close to the £20m they paid for him two years ago.
