Summer is here, and Dunelm has released an array of new furniture and home accessories to refresh your home and garden for the warmer months. Of course, there are plenty of items for your outdoor space, perfect for sun-filled (fingers crossed) days, but Dunelm also has plenty of indoor items.
As a shopping editor (and self-proclaimed interiors fanatic), I'm always looking through the latest ranges from my favourite brands, including Marks and Spencer and John Lewis. But, when it comes to affordable options that rival more expensive retailers, Dunelm is a shop I find myself returning to time and time again. Perhaps one of my favourite things about Dunelm is that they don't just offer one style, but have something to suit almost any home aesthetic.
You can browse Dunelm's entire new-in range here. Or keep scrolling for some of my top picks from the new-in collection.
I'm starting off strong with the most summer-worthy item from my top picks (and also the most expensive): thislow round table and two matching relaxed armchairs are perfect for lazy days in the garden. The chair comes in black or green, but the green option in particular reminds me a lot of a far more expensive garden furniture set on the market.
The colour, combined with the slatted design of the chairs, looks very similar to the garden furniture on offer from the brand HAY. One key difference, however, is that rather than being made from metal, this Dunelm set is made from Polypropylene and Fibreglass.
The set is described as "part assembled", so you will need to put some parts together when it arrives.
Stripes have been a big interiors trend for the last year, and by the looks of things, they aren't going anywhere. Stripe drenching' has become something of a buzzword lately, a design method that incorporates stripes on furniture, accessories, and even walls, in all directions, to add energy and colour to a space. Stripes are also an easy way to add a little bit of colour to a room without overdoing it.
This table lamp is a simple way to inject a little of the trend into a space, and I particularly like that the stand and lampshade appear to blend into one. Made from natural paper string, the lamp has a woven design in a warm shade of red, adding an earthy colour that's perfect for the warmer months.
Plus, the Suzie Striped Table Lamp is affordable at less than £40.
Curved edges and smooth, rounded lines have been an interior design trend over the last few years, helping to soften a room and add a hint of Art Deco or even Art Nouveau charm. This wooden curved mirror also adds a touch of mid-century modern. However, one thing to note is that, as the frame is made from MDF, Dunelm says it is not suitable for use in bathrooms.
However, I think it would look great hung above a dressing table or even as a way to inject a little bit of fun into your hallway (a mirror is always handy for a quick check before you dash out the front door).
The mirror is also an affordable £40.
I don't know what it is about a checkerboard print, but I can't get enough of it. It's fun and playful and can add something interesting to a space without overwhelming it. Every lounge can benefit from a statement chair, so it's no surprise theEliza Checkerboard Wooden Arm Occasional Armchair caught my eye.
In shades of deep green, with dark wooden arms, the chair is neutral enough not to cause a stir while still being a unique piece. Plus, for just £149, it's quite a bargain.
The chair already has positive reviews, currently rated four out of a possible five stars based on customer feedback. One person who bought the chair said: "It's a lovely chair, and much more comfortable than other options I've looked at in a similar price range. The fabric is soft and feels like a mix of cotton and fine chenille. In my opinion, the chair looks much more expensive than it is. The chair was pretty easy to put together, but the arms would be a little awkward if you're putting it up alone (it would definitely be doable though)."
If, like me, the summer months have you thinking of gorgeous fields of flowers and trickling brooks, then why not bring a little bit of the English countryside home by introducing some cottage-core accessories? I'm a sucker for a decorative pillow, and the gingham pattern coupled with the frill edging on this cushion immediately had me thinking of a cosy country scene.
Switching up the cushions in your home, be it on a sofa or a bed, can help to change the vibe of a space without having to crack open a pot of paint or shell out hundreds.
The cushion comes in three summer-friendly pastel shades: blue, pink, and green. While the cover is made from cotton and polyester, the interior pillow is made from polyester fibre (and is included in the purchase). The cushion costs £20.
