Nick Kyrgios has reportedly secured a new role for Wimbledon after being axed from the BBC line-up. The outspoken Aussie was a pundit for the Beeb at SW19 last year but will not be working for the broadcaster this time around. He has also been overlooked by ESPN despite working on their panel at the Australian Open.
Kyrgios was hoping to play at Wimbledon this year but has been ruled out of the tournament through injury. After he was ditched by the BBC, it seemed as though he would be forced to watch the action from home. However, it has now been reported that he will team up with another media company instead.
The man from Canberra will join talkSPORT as a tennis correspondent for Wimbledon, according to The Times. He will reportedly host a daily show with co-presenter Gordon Smart, as well as featuring alongside Jim White and Simon Jordan in the morning.
Kyrgios appeared on the station on Thursday, where he expressed sympathy for Emma Raducanu and her struggles in returning to the highest level.
"My heart does go out to her," he said. "I look at that run [at the US Open in 2021]. I was watching it on TV. She was smiling and enjoying her tennis so much and that whole two weeks for her was an incredible journey.

"But since then, I've seen her kind of enjoy her tennis, but I've never really seen her smile and really enjoy it as she did when she won the tournament.
"Whether or not that it's external pressure, I don't know what's going on, but at the end of the day, we play sport because we love it and we go out there because we want to compete and entertain people.
"I hope that she figures out what's wrong and what's going on there, I hope she finds the answers, but I completely understand."
Earlier this week, Kyrgios was savaged by a handful of tennis fans after leaving a comment on Raducanu's latest Instagram post. Romance rumours have been swirling around the young Brit and Carlos Alcaraz ahead of their mixed doubles venture at the US Open.
However, some of the Spaniard's fanatics appeared to be fearful that Kyrgios could come between them. Under the post in question, he simply wrote: "Get it," but not everybody was receptive to his words of encouragement.
@miliolieduardo said: "Give up, Carlos won this war already." Meanwhile, @eedrienn added: "no bro." Another user, @felipes340x, simply posted three clown emojis.
@__short._.quotes issued a more direct message to Kyrgios, telling him: "Mind your own business and stay the f*** away from her."
