Pasta is a dish that is loved by everyone in the family. The popular Italian dish is well-known for its versatility, familiarity, and ease of cooking. The delicious food is among the most popular choices to join in the celebratory meals or even a quiet comfort night.
A food expert has suggested adding a "controversial" ingredient to the dish that may not be easily accepted by everyone. Sarah Rossi from Taming Twins claimed that adding fennel seeds to pasta will enhance its taste, and it must be given a try. She wrote: "These little monkeys are controversial! I do not like aniseed flavour at all, but in this dish, they do somehow just elevate it to something special. Please invest in a jar and try it, and let me know what you think."
Calling it an "all-round hit", Ms Rossi first fries garlic and the onions in a bowl and later adds sausage chunks and peppers to it.
Once the sausages begin to turn black from the edges, the cooking enthusiast suggest to add dry pasta, chopped tomatoes, fennel seeds, Italian herbs, chilli flakes, salt and pepper and about 500ml/2 cups of the stock.
She said: "Please do try the fennel seeds in this - they really make the dish."
At the next step, one can begin to add the cream cheese, parmesan cheese, and fresh basil. She has advised to make sure the pasta is almost cooked before adding the cheese and basil.
One of the users commented: "Made this today, as it had rated highly in a top ten of TT recipes for 2024. Have I missed this? What a fabulous, tasty, cracking meal. Yep, this will be made again during 2025."
Another user wrote: "This is now a family favourite in our house, perfect for the evenings when it's a rush after school. Super delicious."
A third user said: " I tried this today for the first time and was so impressed. I loved the fennel seeds and just the perfect level of spice. It's definitely going to become one of my favourites."
A fourth user agreed and wrote: "This was an absolute hit tonight! It turned out I had the ingredients in the fridge waiting to be used up, so it was even more stress-free. Everyone loved it, even the picky kids, so I will definitely be making it again."
