The Guest's Eve Myles addresses future of BBC series with cryptic comment

This week, the BBC released their brand-new psychological thriller The Guest, which has been filled with twists and turns so far.

The first episode dropped on Monday night and introduced viewers to Fran (played by Eve Myles) and Ria (Gabrielle Creevy), as actress Eve Myles touched on their complex friendship in the past.

Initially, successful business woman Fran decides to hire Ria her cleaner and the pair seem to strike up an unlikely friendship.

However, as the episodes unfold, a drastic event will intertwine their lives through shared secrets.

A short synopsis reads: "An obsessive co-dependence emerges that ultimately threatens to become dangerous and manipulative - a psychological game of cat-and-mouse."

Although only one episode has been released on-air so far, with all instalments available to watch on BBC iPlayer, it looks as though there could be more in store.

When asked if there's a potential for another series, while speaking with Reachplc, both actresses teased this might not be the end for Fran and Ria.

Gabriell was quick to respond when asked about the prospect for a second series as she replied: "I would hope so! I think so."

Initially, Eve joked that she was exhausted, although she was quick to compliment the cast and crew on the series.

She added: "I hate to sound naff, but you know when you get a script like The Guest and you get a team, Key Street, and you play opposite Gab, you get Ashley Way directing, I would do that until the cows come home.

"These two women, they've been extraordinary to find and they've been extraordinary to play out, I think there's so much life and blood and power in them. I'd love to see what they do next."

Similarly, director Alex Way had nothing but kind words to say about working with Gabrielle and Eve, calling it a 'delight'

They told the BBC: "What's similar between Eve Myles (plays Fran) and Gabrielle Creevy (plays Ria) is that they're both very intuitive.

"What they feel is all immediate and real, they both need to process things in that way, so working with them together was a delight because they were both completely on the same wavelength.

"All I had to do was do my job and give them freedom."
