Liverpool are reportedly set to launch a first formal transfer bid for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, which could shatter the British record fee in an astonishing summer of spending. Arne Slot has already brought in Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez for nearly £300million.
Their rivals have only been able to watch on as another transfer domino falls, with Luis Diaz agreeing a £65.4m move to Bayern to help facilitate a push for Isak. Arsenal have landed a striker of their own in Viktor Gyokeres, while Chelsea have brought in Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.
Manchester United are still trying to bring in more firepower for Ruben Amorim, having added Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha to the squad, while Tottenham failed in their attempt to sign Morgan Gibbs-White. The England man penned a contract extension at Nottingham Forest.
