Urgent search for 'vulnerable' Brit, 65, missing in Paris after leaving restaurant

The family of a 65-year-old affected by "quite advanced" Parkinson's disease is growing increasingly concerned after the man went in Paris. Chris Arnheim, a tennis fan, had travelled with his brother to the capital of to enjoy the French Open earlier this week.

However, Mr Arnheim and his brother became separated in Rue de Turenne at around 9pm on Thursday, May 22, after they left a restaurant in the Marais district where they had dined together. The pair were returning to Rue des Francs-Bourgeois when the 65-year-old went missing. Mr Arnheim, from Chislehurst in south-east London, wears glasses, and was last seen wearing grey trousers, a blue-green shirt, a dark blue cardigan, and a navy-black coat.

The man is described as Caucasian, is around 180cm tall, with a thin stature.

His son-in-law, Tom, said Mr Arnheim's loved ones are "very concerned about him."

He told the : "He is very vulnerable. We're all really worried about him and we want him safely home."

Tom added that his father-in-law needs medications to alleviate some of the symptoms of his Parkinson's.

He added: "His medication alleviates some of the symptoms to some extent but the time at which he went missing, it wasn't long after that his meds would have stopped being affective. Because of his condition it can make it very hard for him to communicate. I should say as well his condition can lead to him being quite confused."

The disappearance of Mr Arnheim, who didn't have his medication on him when he went missing, has been reported to local police and the British Consulate. A missing person poster shows the Brit's pictures as well as a contact number and email for people with information about the man to use.

He said: "We want his photo out there to bring him home."

A Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office spokesperson said: "We are supporting the family of a British national who is missing in France and are in contact with the local authorities."
