Frankenstein is on Netflix and the Guillermo del Toro adaptation has already left fans "in awe".
The Oscar-winning writer and director said making his own version of Mary Shelley's beloved gothic novel was on his bucket list.
The film is told from two perspectives - Victor Frankenstein's and the Creature's - and fans were left mesmerized by the monster's haunting look.
While Oscar Isaac delivered a stunning performance as the title character, viewers are keen to know who is behind the monster.
The monster is played by Jacob Elordi, a 28-year-old Australian actor known for his roles in The Kissing Booth and Euphoria.
He also rose to prominence as Felix Catton in the film Saltburn, and as Elvis Presley in Priscilla.
Fans took to Google Reviews to praise the star's performance, with James Cerne saying: "A real treat of a movie. A classic story told by a master filmmaker at the height of his powers.
"Not perfect but nonetheless a superior film, and one where every corner of every frame is saturated in its makers love for the story, for film and... for life itself!
"Elordi is wonderful, doing what decades of previous films have not: giving an interpretation of Frankenstein's creature that, both visually and performatively, equals Karloffs.
"Just as Gary Oldman reinvented an archetype in Dracula, Elordi does in Frankenstein."
The star has already won a Santa Barbara International Film Festival award for his role in the film.
He opened up about his mega transformation, which took marathon 10-hour sessions to complete.
There were 42 pieces for the full-body look, with 14 for the head and neck.
He told Tudum: "From the moment I got into the makeup trailer [the performance] began, and it was alive.
"Guillermo said this would be not just a meditation, but a metamorphosis."
