Dominik Mysterio acknowledges John Cena for praising him ahead of WrestleMania 41
Dominik Mysterio seems very happy for John Cena for praising him ahead of WrestleMania 41. He acknowledged Cena and expressed his gratitude for endorsing him. During an interview with The Wrestling Classic, Dominik Mysterio , the Judgment Day faction member, opened up about how special he felt when John Cena praised Mysterio.
Acknowledging The Cenation Leader, Mysterio said, “I think that was super, super dope of him to do that, you know, cuz John doesn’t have to do any of that stuff,” Dominik said. “John doesn’t have to — he’s John Cena, you know? He’s the biggest, if not the biggest, movie star in the world, along with the biggest wrestler currently in the world. And for him to say those things about me, it’s just really cool to see.”
During the interview, Mysterio claimed that Cena was among the first well-known celebrities he collaborated with following the pandemic's conclusion, partnering alongside him and his father, Rey Mysterio, against Roman Reigns and The Usos. He remarked that it was unique for Cena to recognize his development, having witnessed his whole transformation from a young rookie to a heel figure.
“Especially because, like, you know, I started with him when the pandemic ended, and we had live crowds back. Like, he was the guy that was there for me with the tag matches, giving me advice as a good guy — we were both baby faces at that time,” he added.
He also recalled the time when he turned heel for the first, and how Cena had seen the transformation and his entire journey till date “But the fact that Cena was able to see me from that beginning to then, like, a couple of months later when he came back — maybe a year or two later when he came back — I was a bad guy then, and I got to wrestle him in a dark match. So, he’s seen me through this whole process and what I’ve gone through,” he explained.
Moreover, he added how Cena has been a childhood inspiration to him and how he has followed him since because of his childhood connection with the World Champion.

Lastly, Mysterio added, “I’ve known that dude since I was a kid. Like, I’ve loved the Doctor of Thuganomics, you know? I played his album when I was in school. Before I jumped in the showers, I always had to listen to music or have a speaker on — I’d play his CD. It was signed for me. Like, I was a Cena mark, you know? But at the end of the day, it’s really cool to hear that from a guy like that.”
